Problems since Symcon update v7 --> v8: since update symcon looses connection with knx bus after several hours

Sice I updated towards v8. Symcon will looses connection to the knx bus. At first it works normal for several hours, however, after about 8 hours the connection is lost.

Anyone else having problems with this? Anyhone having a solution?

At the moment this is not a known issue. Can you give us some details?

  • Which interface are you using?
  • Do you use KNX (UDP) or KNX (TCP)
  • If the error happens, is there a failure when you want to switch?
  • Can you check the Debug log for the KNX Gateway instance, when the error happens? Is Symcon at least trying to reconnect?

I use KNX (UDP), tcp or secure does not work.
If I try to switch to tcp the knx ip interface will actively refuse connection.

When the udp connection is made and it works fine, after some hours symcon is not able anymore to process the knx information on the bus. Somehow the
„udp socket module“ and „knx gateway module“ show no error state in the console. But, when I push my knx wall buttons, nothing happens anymore. Also my timed flowscripts don’t activate anything (torn on or off anything) on the knx bus.

About the logs, I will have to wait several hours and when the next fail comes, I can see if it logs tell us anything.

Hi,

Hereby the logs. However there is not much to see, Symcon just stops receiving messages from the knx interface and no info is being sent anymore.

Today I had to hard reset my knx hardware in order for the Siemens IP module to work again.

When I revert to Symcon v7.2 these problems do not occur, so somehow Symcon seems to do something since version 8 that leads tot communication problems with the knx ip actor.

I hope you can help.
